If you want to reduce your energy consumption, it might be helpful to be able to compare different appliances. Go Compare’s Energy Cost Calculator provides a choice of appliances and information on the cost of running them for a set period of time, which can be converted to kWh.
The tool would be more helpful if it were possible to switch between cost and kWh, and to search for appliances instead of trawl through a drop-down. Also, where are the different types of central heating? And why is it not possible to compare running a dish-washer to doing the dishes by hand?
