About the Project
Exeter Community Energy is a Community-owned coop developed by the Energy Group of Transition Exeter.
Our Aims:
- To have a positive impact on climate change, community development and local economy
- To reduce reliance on fossil fuels
- To support communities in reducing their fuel consumption
The Story So Far
Following work by Transition Exeter’s Energy Working Group from 2008, Exeter Community Energy (ECoE) was setup as a Registered Society in January 2014 to generate community-owned renewable energy in Exeter. .
As a community-owned coop, ECoE wants to benefit the city, its people and the environment. One element of this is sharing the financial benefits between shareholders, a fund for community projects and investment in further energy projects.
How to Get Involved
